Strings With Qigong
Heidi Castleman

Our Mission
Strings with Qigong’s mission is to nurture musicians’ physical and mental self-awareness through gentle, nature-based movements. Knowing one’s body and spirit through music and movement allow us to express ourselves freely and purely.

ABOUT ME
As a student, I had the great good fortune to study with Dorothy DeLay. The combination of her command of learning sequences and great love of the student nourished me. Miss DeLay would begin “Now Sugar, just…” and lay out a step-by-step approach of mastering a skill. In my very first lesson with her, she showed me how to address an obstacle with which I struggled for years. Instantly I knew: “This is how I want to devote my life, empowering students to achieve their dreams.” The rest is the history of my over-60 years career. Qigong is like rocket fuel for a musician. Both Qigong and playing a string instrument are about vibration and flow of movement, the former painting in sound and the latter painting in movement. I hope you will join me in Zoom on Sundays 11AM-noon Eastern Time.
